as told by my pal Stephen because who wants to write their own bio?

Bethany King is an illustrator, art educator, podcaster, and snail mail enthusiast. Born and raised in Southern California and now thriving in Queens, she has been described by some as “a human beam of sunshine, if beams were also good with an xacto knife.” Her warm personality is reflected in her body of work, rendered in poppy primary colors and lively organic shapes. Beth creates her trademark style by painting complex patterns on paper, then cutting and collaging shapes into colorful playful illustrations. She illustrated the 2022 book “There’s a Dragon in My Pocket” written by Shannon Brink, and took on both author and illustrator role for “Every Flavor Imaginable” (2024). Outside of her work in kid’s lit, Beth is an art instructor teaching both kids and adults that art is fun and for everyone!
